Chelsea Adele Nanfelt is currently studying at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee and in May 2018, she will receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Jewelry & Metalsmithing. She plans to move back to her roots on the East Coast shortly after graduating to pursue jewelry and curatorial interests. Nanfelt’s practice is intentionally and has always been socially engaged. This year, she has been the Curatorial lead in a jewelry recycling and community oriented project called Radical Jewelry Makeover through the Union Art Gallery at University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Nanfelt is also an Undergraduate Research Assistant with Jewelry and Metalsmithing Area Head, Yevgeniya Kaganovich and gallery assistant at 3rd Ward Jewelry in Milwaukee, WI. While at UWM, Chelsea has been awarded several honors, some of which include: 2nd Prize in the Metals 16! Annual Juried Student Exhibition, juried by Veleta Vanza; 1st Prize in Metals 18! Annual Juried Student Exhibition, juried by Susie Ganch; the Loose Bead Society Award; and a scholarship to attend Arrowmont School of Crafts to take a class with Laura Wood. She has been an active member of Object, contributing as President for one year and assisting with sales as a member.
